nmX.Memnoch Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 I'm pretty sure WMP10 installs with 2003 SP1. Since service packs are all inclusive it should be included in the SP2 beta/RC as well (unless they don't have it in the beta or RC builds).

RyanVM Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I installed MP11 by extracting the package and running the installers in XP compatibility mode. Everything seemed to go OK, but when I try to start Media Player, it tells me that the version number installed doesn't match the expected version and quits. Any ideas?
nitroshift Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Ryan, I had the same issue on my wife's pc which is using windows xp. She never used media player and after update, it came with the same error as yours. I remember I had to clean every media player 11 entry in the registry and reinstall wmp11. It works flawlessly now. I think the error was because she never used windows media player before the update.
