Office 2003 is the only one it reads. Is this a known issue?Any input would be a great help.*much respect*
scorpiosoft Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 I don't know the answer but maybe you can post your question overhere.
Spooky Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 The fact that it will read anything indicates basic functionality. As for the other stuff - RC1 is not a good platform upon which to base solid functionality judgement, however, it might help you out if you were to upgrade DVD drive firmware. Jaser Posted January 1, 2007 Author Posted January 1, 2007 HI,Yeah I did that. And still nothing. It's stupid. I like Vista, but I might go back to Xp
Jaser Posted January 2, 2007 Author Posted January 2, 2007 Hi Team,Ok Back on XP. It would appear my dvd drive is rooted.Could installing Vista have done it?I did't have a problem with it till the install
wfunction Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Smooth. Did you somehow downgrade to XP (if you upgraded), or did you delete Vista and reinstall XP afresh?
Jaser Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 I reformatted and got rid of Vista, and reinstalled XP ProfessionalI'll wait for the full release of Vista
Spooky Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 When you did this with Vista, was the Vista install a clean install or an upgrade over XP?I reformatted and got rid of Vista, and reinstalled XP ProfessionalI'll wait for the full release of Vista
Jaser Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 it was a clean install, I now have a full copy of Vista Home Premium and still have the same problem. the drive won't read CD's
