December 30, 200619 yr Hi Team,I have loaded Vista build RC1 5600.Everything seems to be ok but for 2 things.My DVD drive will only read dvds and afew software cds. Office 2003 is the only one it reads.Is this a known issue?Any input would be a great help.*much respect*
December 30, 200619 yr The fact that it will read anything indicates basic functionality. As for the other stuff - RC1 is not a good platform upon which to base solid functionality judgement, however, it might help you out if you were to upgrade DVD drive firmware. January 2, 200719 yr Smooth. Did you somehow downgrade to XP (if you upgraded), or did you delete Vista and reinstall XP afresh?

February 16, 200719 yr Author it was a clean install, I now have a full copy of Vista Home Premium and still have the same problem. the drive won't read CD's
