friendly_guy Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 HII've made a cd with w2k +sp4 using nlite, during the whole proccess I didn't have any problems, but when I am trying to start installing windows from a cd that message occures NTDETECT failedI had enough of that and I stopped trying to solve that / Of course if there is a way to fix that I'll be greatfull/ But now I'm simply asking, If I use those four floppies that can be made with makeboot32.exe then boot from them and install windows from that cd with that NTDETECT problem, will it be ok, There won't be any trouble from that??SEE YA

I would try to integrate SP4 manually though if nlite is causing you problems.
nuhi Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Try to make iso with some other engine...read the help mark alongside that option on nLite makeiso page.

I would try to integrate SP4 manually though if nlite is causing you problems. It booted up correctly and everything went fine till the when it caused a problem that have terminated the proccess of instalation. I've end up without windows on my disc, saving myself using only linux. (The problem occured after formating my windows partition, It sad, that a *sif fil is missing (Sorry i don't rememerber any further details, I was to furious to think about it. )I would try to integrate SP4 manually though if nlite is causing you problems. Now I have to install windows from my "bare" Windows CD and then integrade that, of course manually, using nlite is not good for my health
jaclaz Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 It sounds more like a badly burned CD...http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=87156jaclaz

Camarade_Tux Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Yes, VM all the way:-VMWare Server-VirtualPC 2007-VirtualboxAll of these are free. Virtualbox has the smallest installer (VMWare is > 120MB) and smallest size on disk.
nuhi Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 korbendalis, get cdimage.exe from the net (microsoft tool, I can't distribute it), copy it to nlite's root where you installed it. Run nlite and select your modified XP folder, select only ISO page, go next, change ISO Engine to CDIMAGE, make ISO, when done select Mode: burn ISO and select that which you made, it should work now.
