Either your settings aren't being saved on exit, or something is changing them on shutdown/startup.

I take it you've run malware scans?

and how to save settings on exit ?

edit: through group policy ?

Try to kill "explorer.exe" after registry change and re-run "explorer", settings will be saved.

tried and even delete the desktop key, but it returns to: Desktop = c: in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

i'd scan with xclean_micro for malware.

If no malware found, set regkey and set permissions to Read only for system and all users.

where to set that ??

Right-click on Shell Folders in the left pane of RegEdit, choose Permissions...

If it appears, change the Everyone user to Read Only.

If it appears, change the SYSTEM user to Read Only.

This will prevent malware from changing the settings.
