hmaster10 Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Is disabling the service "NVIDIA Display Driver Service" won't allow me to use the functionality it provides? or it still works after I configure the settings then turn the service off?
nitroshift Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Disable = turn off, shut down, in other words
redxii Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I have it disabled.. it doesn't provide anything as far as I know.
hmaster10 Posted November 5, 2006 Author Posted November 5, 2006 (edited) Disable = turn off, shut down, in other words So I need it turn on to have the settings take effect w/ the 3D games i'm playing with... sigh. Thanks for the info I have it disabled.. it doesn't provide anything as far as I know.It doesn't? but with it turned off (dunno about when turned on) I don't see the settings getting applied to the games i played, I have set it to performance rather than quality so that i can play 3d games w/o lag (not connection lag) Edited November 5, 2006 by hmaster10
Jeremy Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 (edited) I have it disabled.. it doesn't provide anything as far as I know.It provides the Nvidia Display Tab in Display Properties where you can modify various settings. NVTweak available at Guru3D works well with it when you decide to tweak it. For example, with ES4 Oblivion, you can significantly increase your FPS on Nvidia cards by changing the "Frames Rendered Ahead" option from the default of 3 to 0. Edited November 6, 2006 by Jeremy
hmaster10 Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 Thanks Jeremy, I'll try turning it on and see if 3d games performs faster.
