hougtimo Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 hi,I have a new motherboard which allows for vcore highering for overclocking my 4200+ better. (currently 2.64GHz), but I am having to use stock cooling as I can't find a different hsf that will physically fit onto my motherboard as there is limited room around the CPU socket. The motherboard in question is an aNit NF-M2 nView motherboard. If anyone knows of a good cooler for these, please could you let me know?ThanksHougTimo
puntoMX Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 I would keep the stock cooling, you will not get much gain with a non stock cooler. It would have been better if you spend the money for an extra cooler on a higher model , but I know it’s too late for that now.How high is your voltage any way? What case do you use?
hougtimo Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 Thanks for the replies guys.Would I not be able to bring the temps down a bit with a better cooler?Right now, my vcore is 1.475v cpu running @ 2.64Ghz (440MHz OC - is this good for a 4200+?) And temps are reaching 54-56'c max under prime95 24hr testing. Are these temps ok? or should I do something about them?ThanksHougTimo
ripken204 Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 those temps are actually pretty well. whats ur idle?
LLXX Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 And temps are reaching 54-56'c max under prime95 24hr testing.You have 10° more.http://www.gen-x-pc.com/cputemps.htm - 65° maximum.
