PROBLEMCHYLD Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 which is obselete between q269601 q242937
soporific Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 which is obselete between q269601 q242937They are the same!! q242937 is actually q269601q242937 is the kb article number, whereas q269601 is what the update is named as when you install it. It's confusing, I know. That's why q242937 is in brackets at the end of the description for q269601

Does this update hold the secret to ever-lasting system stability? Who better to ask than the keeper of the holy hotfix chronicles ...??' ----- so, have you asked him? cause it aint me!! --- his online name starts with M and he's a bit of a legend with his over-achieving website and all the Windows tips info under the sun, etc etc. No prizes for guessing, sorry ...But if you're asking lil old ME, well, here's the results of your pilgrimage to the sacred sands... nicke85 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Why someone don't make a new version of Unofficial Win98SE with all these updates. It will be more better than this list of updates.I have ver. 2.1a from Gape but don't know which files are really included into that installation.I can't thinking about that.Is there some good programmer for that!?
PROBLEMCHYLD Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Q222930: superceeded by unknown. Q222930 contains v7.00.1995.1 of ccfg95.dll but v7.00.2008.1 is found on a totally patched system.this version is from WinMeccfg95.dll 7.1.2134.1
Eck Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 The AutoPatcher is what you're looking for, for now, if you want Gape's Pack but with today's updates.I installed Gape's pack before the AutoPatcher and that worked fine. The AutoPatcher does not reinstall updates if they're already there so you'll still need to run some of the Unofficial stuff like 891711, the GDI fix, etc, after doing the AutoPatcher. There's still potentially going to be a Gape update but there hasn't been anything definative announced as to when.In the meantime that procedure works fine. And the running of 98SE2ME, 98SE2XP, and the WMP10 for 9x updates afterwards brings you further modernization of the 98 files.
