Floppy Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Slipstream----------->Ok, no problems!WinXpsp2 instal----->Ok, no problems! From the last boot during XP instal(VM) to the desktop is ready to use it took 28min. During those 28min the display was black. Is it "normal" that it takes 28min to complete?Tried WinUpdate , no updates necessary! If Iwant to integrate Bâshrat the Sneaky's DriverPacks, do I do that befor or after HFslip?Thankyou for your help
Super-Magician Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I am not sure why you would have to wait 28 minutes. Only thing I can say is to try it in a regular system (not virtual machine).
Tomcat76 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 (edited) From the last boot during XP instal(VM) to the desktop is ready to use it took 28min. During those 28min the display was black. Is it "normal" that it takes 28min to complete? It still takes 28 minutes? No, this isn't normal. Try removing the hotfixes that are not on our lists (if there are any) or use the latest test release (60924a).If Iwant to integrate Bâshrat the Sneaky's DriverPacks, do I do that befor or after HFslip?I don't think it makes a difference but it depends on what they change in the source. I never actually tried them out... Edited September 24, 2006 by Tomcat76

RJARRRPCGP Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Is it "normal" that it takes 28min to complete? Are you using QEMU for the VM? If you are that's probably why. It's known to take it's sweet time under QEMU. Strangely, with QEMU, if you keep on moving the mouse, Windows Setup may go faster!

Super-Magician Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Well, for one thing, you are including x64 DirectX binaries in an x86 system.Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x64.cabDec2005_d3dx9_28_x64.cabFeb2005_d3dx9_24_x64.cabFeb2006_d3dx9_29_x64.cabJun2005_d3dx9_26_x64.cabAlso, try removing KB905474 as only an English version is available and supported.
Floppy Posted September 26, 2006 Author Posted September 26, 2006 (edited) Thanks, will test with the rhight files....The KB905474, is it not multi langual? Edited September 26, 2006 by Floppy
the_guy Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 There are multilingual versions, but you need to install it on a running system and search WindowsUpdate.log (or it's norwegian file name) for 905474.the_guy
Tomcat76 Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 I haven't seen a localized version yet. Never really tried to find one, though, since the English version is working fine.@FloppyPlease remove msxml2sp6-kb887606-x86-nor.exe.
