Martijn Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Hi,I was feeling like doing some tweaking of my XP again. Can you guys recommend me a good (and free) tweaking program (other than the powertoys)? Thanks in advance!
N1K Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Free, hum, guess we'll wait for some other answer..But you can get a very good tweaker for only 14.95$ called X-Setup, but you've probably already heard for it . It is very good but unfortunatelly it is not free..
Andromeda43 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Hi,I was feeling like doing some tweaking of my XP again. Can you guys recommend me a good (and free) tweaking program (other than the powertoys)? Thanks in advance!HI,Tweaks to do what?People want to do the dangdest things with Windows that you could ever imagin.Personally, I'm not interested in making XP into something it was never intended to be.What I do like to do though, is make it run more efficiently, faster, smoother and shut down faster. If that's what you're into......then we can talk. Andromeda43 B) PS:I put my entire list of tweaks, both efficiency and cosmetic, on My WebpageJust download and print them out.
Takeshi Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 X-Setup used to be free and is probably the most comprehensive tweaking tool. The last time I opened it (ver. 6) I didn't make any changes. Tweaking for tweaking's sake is pointless and could well be destructive. Most tweaks can be done via regedit yourself anyway. B) There're other free ones, but I wouldn't recommend any. One that I tried (came with mag CD) was a bit like TweakUI and registering it brought me loads of spam for months.
