for mobo get a 975x

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131025

ur just gonna f***ing love that cpu!

heatsink and ram are very good

what speakers do u plan on having? and how much do u game/listen to music?

is there a reason ur not getting a 7900gt or x1900?

all else looks fine except the dvd drive. are you getting that just for the litescribe? if you want it for litescribe then i guess ur fine b/c theres not much of a choice, but there is a lite-on with litescribe available.

edit:

you could get and e6600 and use that money for a good video card, unless you dont game much then i completely understand. and if u dont game much, then i dont see the point of an x-fi.

hes right the E6700 is a VERY good cpu but it does not justify the price tag.. a E6600 is the sweet spot... the diff between them is very small i would save the extra money and wait for nother video card.. but do ur self a favor and wait for DX 10 its foolish not too.. unless u want something cheap in the mean time

I like your setup, just wonder how long you'll have to wait to get the E6700! ;) I can personally highly recommend the Zalman 9500, I have one myself and it keeps my P4 3.4 nice and cool even when OC'd and over volted. I've had it up to 4.3GHz and it never broke 50C at full load. From what I'm hearing you shouldn't have nay heat issues anyway.

It is pretty big though... here is a pic of it when I was installing. another.... k, 1 more why not

Thanks Guys

@ripken: See I need a Mobo thats supports intel Core 2 Duo CPU and a P4 because I dont have enough for that CPU but planning to get it soon but I'm thinking to wait longer and buy this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819115001

as for the video card, I'm not going to do much gamming the only game i'm going to play is CS. I do like to listen to music I need a nice sound card but one that not to pricy but i think that sound blaster is good. now for the speakers is going to wait until next year when we add a new floor on our house then witch I will have 2 room one for were I sleep (Bedroom) then one for my computer room, I'm going to school for Networking so I need an office so my dad sad i can 2 rooms, anyway I'm going to buy one of thease 2 speakers:

get the z5500!! for sound card since ur not into gaming, then u can get the audio enthusiast's sound card! the auzentech x-purity (or possible renamed x-meridian).

you can see the specs here

http://www.auzentech.com/images/x-purity/index.htm

this card can encode any source into 7.1 thru a single optical cable at up to 192k for each channel. its coming out mid-september so i would wait to purchase it until ur ready to get a set of speakers.

I Like the z5500 but i'm not sure how long the wire to the rear speaker is.

You can always change the cables, one of the thinks I dislike about those speaker set is the thin 0.75mm2 cables, get thicker ones like 2.5mm".

when i eventually get the z5500, im definetly going to get some better speaker wire. any recommendations on a wire thats not too expensive? or is any 2.5mm wire fine? are there special wires with shielding? what gauge would that be, 12?

which means that this would be fine?

edit: well after some research ive found that teh z5500 comes with 18gauge wire and i think that the max that those speakers can take is 16gauge.

It’s all about oxygen-free copper cables, you don’t need shielding.

2.08mm2 is 14 (Crazy numbers they use in America :P), that would be fine for the surround speakers. I think those clips on the speakers can take up to 4mm2, that would be 12 or so.

EDIT: Found this too: Going to #16 results in a 1.309 mm2 area and the #18 will give you 0.8231 mm2. Standard it comes with those cheap *ss 0.75mm2 :puke:.

  • 2 months later...

btw the E6600 is quick as watter :P - on air it clock up to 3.6ghz stable (if you buy good spreaders and a powerfull cpu-cooler (you may want to install casefans though...

but id recomment to take it a little slower though... (have seen it run at over 4ghz, (and a dutch tweaker has poblished a score over 5ghz ....

i think your hardware choice aint bad though... but the 6700 is overkill

Makes you pay more, wallets getting lighter and you walk faster ;).

Indeed, always better to take 1 step back; never buy the highest model that is sold. But I know that there are a lot of people that not even use 20% of there CPU and they just use it to show off :P.
