T D Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Does GTA San Andreas need hardware t&l or can it be emulated software t&l?Thnx.
puntoMX Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 It uses hardware T&L, what kind of card do you have?
MagicAndre1981 Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 All Dx7 cards have Hardware T&L and those cards are from 2000. What an old card do you have?
T D Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 Intel 82915G Express Intel don't do T&LIt's pretty new w/DX 9.0cCan emulated t&l be used? Can I use stuff like 3danalyser?
Albuquerque Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 There's probably some confusion around what Intel calls "Highly optimized SW pipeline built into DirectX*", but basically it means that it will work. The actual graphics chip will not be performing those duties, your CPU will... But ultimately, you shouldn't notice the difference because the graphics chip is so stinking slow to begin with Anyway, you should be fine. I've played T&L-required games on old crappy Intel graphics hardware before and it's worked as best as you'd expect for an integrated graphics solution (ie -- turn down the resolution and details and you will be fine)
T D Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 Well almost all recent games check for hw t&l. Like I bought elder scrolls 4 oblivion, http://srtest.com said I could run the minimum, if I had better graphics, it would be recommended, but it said that "A Direct3D-compatible graphics card could not be found. Now exiting."I'll just get a medium end Geforce and save all the bother. And I tried emulated cpu t&l on Lord of the rings ROTK but no go. And it needs hw t&l.
ripken204 Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 now what do you mean by medium? i would suggest getting thishttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130017
T D Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 I was thinking more a 6800... too expensive for me.
ripken204 Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 umm.. a 6800gt costs more than a 7600gt, and the 7600gt is better. at least here in the US.
T D Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Dunno about the UK, the only store near me (not online store) is pcworld and their best card is pny geforce 6800gt Maybe I'll scrap it and look online.

Camarade_Tux Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 umm.. a 6800gt costs more than a 7600gt, and the 7600gt is better. at least here in the US.Same in France.Btw, ripken you killed me : I saw 7600GT at 80/100 whereas I bought mine at 150.€ vs. £ in fact *big relief*
