T D Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 (edited) Well the first pic makes it seem pretty certain that system restore will restore advanced properties. But on the other hand, I'm pretty certain that system restore will make u need to format again! There was a component in nlite that if u removed, advanced properties wouldn't show up on dialup connections. Littlebr00k Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 (edited) You have removed IIS, or the two files that control that tab have been corrupted. To fix the problem copy iis.dll and iis.inf to your system32 folder and all will be ok.Cant remember if you have to reboot after copying them back to get the advance tab working.nlite actually warns you about this when removing IIS.Hope this helps. T D Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 (edited) WMI should be automatic along with SENS and RASAUTO. Try that.Just so u know, when NLA is on disabled, u can NEVER see the tray icon or advanced tab. But it's not Edit and just so u know, nLite patches syssetup.dll as necessary so u shouldn't integrate that. Edited July 28, 2006 by T D
Zxian Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Moved to nLite forum. If you have modified your system with nLite, please post there from now on. Topic Moved
Wesmosis Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 thanx fellas, I'll try the solutions that you mentioned and I'll feedback asapsorry but I found only iis.in_ and iis.dl_do I have to add the f and d or what?and what is the IIS exactly?!
bottled leaf Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 The Advanced Settings tab is Windows Firewall, you deleted that.
Littlebr00k Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 You need to expand the two files as they are compressed, then copy them to your system32 folder.1) Copy the two files from the cd to a temp folder.2) Open a command window and change to the temp folder3) Then type:expand -r iis.dl_ and hit return4) Then type:expand -r iis.in_ and hit return5) Close the command window & navigate to the temp folder via windows explorer6) You can now copy iis.dll & iis.inf to your system32 folderIIS is the built in web server of XP. Putting these two files on your system you will not install IIS but you will gain access to the advanced tab again.Hope this helps.
