How do I remove "Empty" System Folders

Just one example:

If I check to remove "Microsoft Movie Maker" from the installation, Movie Maker isn't installed. But the [C:\Program Files\movie maker] folder *is* and if you try to delete this "Empty" folder, Windows has a cow!

| Error Deleting File or Folder

| Cannot delete movie maker: it is being used by another person or program.

| Close any program that might be using the file and try again.

But, of course, the "program" is Windows XP! Catch 22!

I find no entry for the 'movie maker' folder in the Registry or in any .INF file. The folder 'appears' empty and isn't shown as a System folder. So, why is Windows XP having this cow, and how do I rid myself of this and all the other empty system folder Windows insists on creating?

i think you should look into editing txtsetup.sif - but test it in vmware because you probably have to try a few (Grinz evilly) times....

Thank you nuhi. That was the missing incantation.

Ya know, every time something like this happens to me I have the feeling I'm back playing Zork for the first time (i.e. "I know this will work if I can *just find the right words*.").
