Windows Live Messenger, The good and the bad

Windows Live Messenger which earlier known by MSN Messenger is the most famous Instant messenger. and unlike other pieces of software which you can choose separately from your freinds an IM is something shared between you and your mates so you cant choose what you like, instead you have to choose what your friends and family like so you can intract with them.so that i liked to know your opinion about WLM and share my own impression about it with you, well when i downloaded the final WLM i got shocked cause of alot of failures i notcied in it. well maybe alot of them related to server side more than the software client itself something like when you add someone you find information bar telling you that you dont have your friend at your list and click here to add him or her now and when you click you get your cursor busy for along time without anything. also i keep getting my offline messeages daily in the same time when i received it for the first time like an echos. and i got it hangged and crashed more than once and sometimes its take alot of CPU without known reason, also the GUI i still think the fisrt beta GUI was the best but for some reason (maybe to follow Vista GUI) they changed the GUI to the one which the final come in, also it take long time to sign in and sometimes give error and dont sign,also the nuge limitation embedded in the client software not in the server so anyone with a patched Software can nudging you for severl times. personally as a user i didnt find a noticable defference in the stability between the final and the earlier ones, if its up to me i was going to choose Google talk. but as i said earlier IM is something shared between you and your friends, i like to know your ideas guys about WLM as a software you use daily.

That said I just use Portable Gaim 2.0 beta.

Site bookmarked. Portable apps are very useful to have. I have over 50 on my USB thumb drives.

Im using Gaim in my freebsd box, but i dont think that it can be a replacement to WLM.

Well another bugs i noticed recently:

you cant search for ... (even if you have a contact nick name is ....).

Sometimes the messeages keep droping which you send to an online friend.

Cant make pc to pc call.

What else to call it buggy ?

I use Mercury Messenger now, for both Linux and Windows... unfortunately its java based, but you don't even know that its using java.

I found this list of IM clients quite helpful.

I think all of these problems happening cause they are preparing for Yahoo connectivity, even if the WLM itself is final now but the servers still under test.
