Ok 2 weeks ago i had my windows 2003 cd in my cd-rom and it just exploded :D then when i tryed closing my cd rom it wouldnt close so i tryed taking out all the little pieace of the cd i did...i think and it still didnt work and my stupid cd rom keept on opening and closing on its own then suddenly when my dad was just about 2 walk into my room it started working on its own ill say it was doing this for about 3 hours. But now heres my problem the other day i burned sumthin and it just started doing the same thing :) so any ideas on how i can fix this. my idea was 2 tip over my pc and shake it allot and get all the pieaces of the blown up cd out of my cd-rom :rolleyes: please help me i am dieing 2 play gta vice city on pc :D

I would remove the Cd-Rom entirely and get some canned air, then blow it out and sshake all the remaining large chunks out.....

Then again gettin all the small bits of cd foil out made prove to be impossiable.

U may be lookin to get a new drive.

i have only heard of this problem with 52X drives...what kind is yours?

hmmm im not sure ill have 2 cheak out the drivers l8er im not home right now :)

Wait, were you burning something? :) I put CDs in my 52x drive all the time and nothing ever happens...

yea i just finished burning sumthing and my dum cd rom stoped working :)

Yea, it was probably burning too fast and that's why it exploded...Your CD has a speed limit of how fast it can be written to...Do what Drew suggested or buy a new burner! :)
