I will be attempting to get a good, stripped down install going on my wife's laptop, and was wondering if there were any key differences from a desktop install? Any gotchas, pitfalls, hints, tips or tricks as to what to remove or what to leave alone? I guess my main concern is making sure all the drivers make it unscathed without leaving in too much cruft.

i would make a def nlite cd with the core stuff that is needed for both laptops and desktop

put in the updates you want and the addon appz as well

it should be good for both

only thing thats make a desktop a desktop is the size of the unit

besides that both are the same

And Touch Pad software, power saving etc

Just don't remove Battery in Hardware Support.

Then, no difference. Just don't forget to install all drivers.

I do indeed appologize for the double post. Mods, if you could delete the offending, useless, appendix-like post, I'd appreciate it. And I appreciate all the help from the rest of you! Gues it's time to Ghost the drive and get hardcore!
