[Question] Whats up with the new validation tool? It ruined my game&#3

I just installed this thing, everything is legit, and the latest games I've been playing, SIN Episodes and FEAR are getting crappy fps. SIN went down from 65 to 22. I can't get the stupid icon in the tray to disappear either. Normally I turn off things from the tray when I game to save system resources and maybe since I can't turn this thing off, thats why my games are playing crappy. I've tried the options it has and restarted but it keeps reappearing.

Anyone know how to uninstall this thing? It won't let me do it in the control panel. There should be a class action lawsuit threat to microsoft for putting this thing on and not allowing us to remove it once our software validates that it is a genuine copy. Its crapping my games out and I want it gone! I HAVE A LEGIT VERSION OF XP, GEEZE MICROSOFT, GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!!! Friggin retards! At least allow those of us with legit copies an option to uninstall it if it causes problems we didn't have before!!!!

This is Microsoft's picture on their new crap validation tool web page.....she does not represent someone upset with this crap validation tool!!

You can say that again! And for all ppl dumb enough to use pirate windows, they're not that happy either!

Why someone having a legit windows would install a tool which sole purpose is to say "legit" or "not legit" ???

(you were not talking about the tool that allow to download files & updates ; only about the "wga notifications", am i right ?)

I can understand if someone using a pirated windows installs it...

But here... netsys004, you're using a legit copy, so why did you installed this ???

??? ??? ???????

Well, you remember how that one page comes up saying you need to download blah, blah, blah before you can move on?? Other downloads they force on you before you can download anything else (such as security patches)....ya get where I'm coming from? Thats what happened. Trust me if I didn't need it, I would have opted out.

And by the way, I think the previous validation tool they put out a while back should have been sufficient enough. Thats why I said MS needs to get over themselves....so theres a few other copies of windows that might not have been caught by that first tool...its not like they're standing in the welfare line! I GET THEIR POINT! BUT MAKE IT WHERE LEGIT COPIES CAN UNINSTALL THE FRIGGIN TOOL IF IT DOESN'T MIX WELL WITH A USER'S COMPUTER. THATS ALL I ASK!

I didn't encounter this problem like yours when I installed it, I have a legit copy, it only popped up once that it said my Windows was not genuine and went away. Didn't happen with the previous WGA tools when I installed it. Stupid Microsoft can't get anything right these days.

I've got legit windows and it came up on windows update. It pops up balloon tips every few minutes saying "thank you for purchasing windows" message and it opens IE to the windows genuine advantage site.

It didn't happened to me.

There were a mandatory download : "WGA Tool", needed to proceed to download pages.

But the "WGA Notifications Tool" you're talking about was optional (thus my question...) : only presented in "windows update"...

Suppose you're living in USA, and you have a driver license since two years (a legit driver license).

Suppose you want to buy a car. You get two solutions :

1) go to a shop, choose the car you want, show your license to the seller, get the car you wanted, and voilà

2) go to the police station, ask the policeman if your license is legit making him suspicious, go to the shop, choose the car you want, show your license to the seller, get the car you wanted, use it, but the policeman will remember you, and since "normal people" (read: those who are not paranoiac) doesn't go to the police station asking if their legit driver license is legit, he will randomly arrest you, check you tires, and let you go.

I'm not saying you're paranoiac, but you choosen the second solution. I see two ways to "go back on the first" : ask the policeman how many bucks he want to stop bugging you (dangerous) ; or wait until he find a more enjoying hobby.

BUT IN NO WAY YOU NEED TO HOWL IN THIS FORUM ! :P

Well, obviously, this wga tool is sooooo top priority that a mod here removed some helpful replies to my post here as well as a solution that I found to it. Get over yourselves, like gates himself is trolling this forum to look for tiny inklings of info that "might" be encroaching.....whatever dude....like I said, get over yourself. I mod some forums too pal and I would NEVER consider a valid helpful solution to an obvious MS problem something that shouldn't be allowed

Heres the PM I got "Zaxiom" or some name like that:

Do not post a "solution" on how to remove the wgatool from your computer. Such discussion is simply not tolerated on MSFN. If you want more clarification - read #1 of the MSFN forum rules.

I have a legit version of XP and shared a solution to an aggravating matter that I'm sure MS won't be suing this website over for it being posted.....you take your mod job way too seriously, get over yourself and go watch some comedy or something.

i think that some of the WGA sH*t encourages the use of other Operating Systems that actualy DO work...

// addition:

i even know people who install cracked versions of windows VLK when there is a legit OEM XP-Pro licence avail.

just because of al the WPA and WGA probs.

i mean even on torrent sites there is a HUGE market for hacked files and installers to windows Updates,

(its not on the bigg trackers, and i realy dont remember the addresses to them. - and if i would id never publish about them - because i dont like software piracy for a bit).

but what i mean is that i seams to me that the good (paying) customers get the sh* that should be aimned at the freeloaders.
