Aaron Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 Do you mean the area in the red marked box is missing?
silverroads Posted July 28, 2003 Author Posted July 28, 2003 DOH !!!!!!! Thank you..... I've used all WINDOWS .... Get to XP and I can't find Scan Disk......

Aaron Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 Backup is probably a feature for XP Professional Only
misskellibad1 Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Not so, backup is not installed by default, it's on your disc.
silverroads Posted July 31, 2003 Author Posted July 31, 2003 Thanks for that " misskellibad 1 " will give a look......
Corvette Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 And ScanDisk has been replaced by a GUI and command line tool called Chkdsk (Open a command prompt window and type CHKDSK X: (X is the drive letter for thedrive you want to check)
darkkavenger Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 If you want your disk to be fully scanned at next reboot, open a console Start> Run> type "Cmd" > OKwrite there CHKDSK X: /F (where X: is the drive, and /F option to force checking of the disk). You will be prompted if you want to do the check the next time your station restart. Type in 'y' and press enter.then exit the console and restart your box.
