clivebuckwheat Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 HiI recently updated my windows xp I am running from a shared distrubution point with Ryan's new 2.06 updated cab. I integrated it with Ryan's vm integrator 1.22. After windows install. I get the message " Windows could become unstable do to unknown files, please insert windows xp sp2 cd"I am perplexed.
mark strelecki Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 That would be Windows File Protection at work. You should disable it when using nLite to build your installation media. That's what I'd do....
RyanVM Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 If you're using RIS, there are some very gifted RIS people on my boards that can probably help you.
clivebuckwheat Posted May 16, 2006 Author Posted May 16, 2006 do I disable windows file protection, in nlite?, if so how?
T D Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 On nlite select patches and choose to disable SFP. This doesn't seem to work for me so I download pre-patched files from Ryan's update pack addons.
clivebuckwheat Posted May 17, 2006 Author Posted May 17, 2006 turning off the sfp in nlite fixed the problem thanks.
JuMz Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 If you're using RIS, there are some very gifted RIS people on my boards that can probably help you.Is this an error specifically caused when using your update packs with a RIS installation? Do you have links pointing to the people you are referring to? The reason I ask is because I will soon be implementing RIS on my network and I wish to use your update packs and I want to be aware of any hicups I might run into...

MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Yes, by simply activating will avoid this or have a look @ Ryans site for an add addon to roll it back from 2.06Not really the way to go tho?CheersMC
RyanVM Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 It's only running in the background if you've got a non-legit copy. At which point, I don't feel any obligation to help. Sorry.
