I recently updated my windows xp I am running from a shared distrubution point with Ryan's new 2.06 updated cab. I integrated it with Ryan's vm integrator 1.22. After windows install. I get the message " Windows could become unstable do to unknown files, please insert windows xp sp2 cd"

I am perplexed.


That would be Windows File Protection at work.

You should disable it when using nLite to build your installation media.

If you're using RIS, there are some very gifted RIS people on my boards that can probably help you.

On nlite select patches and choose to disable SFP. This doesn't seem to work for me so I download pre-patched files from Ryan's update pack addons.

Is this an error specifically caused when using your update packs with a RIS installation? Do you have links pointing to the people you are referring to? The reason I ask is because I will soon be implementing RIS on my network and I wish to use your update packs and I want to be aware of any hicups I might run into...

Yes, by simply activating will avoid this or have a look @ Ryans site for an add addon to roll it back from 2.06

It's ok. I'll use integrator or that add on removal tool to remove that KB905474 hotfix.
