deathwarder
ok, this is not what you think, here are the factsI have an ipod whose conrtols dont work, I want to put a distro of linux for the pc on it, and boot off of it
Gouki
That was exactly what I was thinking. LOLAs for your question:First of all, you need to check if your iPod is compatible. Then you may want to read the iPod Linux FAQ and after that, check out the Windows Installation instructions.Since iPod does not have Memory Management Unit, a special Kernel was made. uClinux, so, you can't install a desktop distribution on the iPod.You should have posted this on the Handheld Forum.Take care.P.S: If the controls dont work, having Linux on it will not help in anyway! It will still be unuseful.

deathwarder
well, is it possible to boot off of a usb drive into linux?
Gouki
Sorry for the late reply.Yes, it is. There are a couple of Distro's small enough to fit into a 128Mb's pen drive. This distributions include DSL, wich you can read a good review here as well as a couple more of them, wich you can Google.I would also advise you to try Live CD's distributions. If you want to know a little bit more about it, that's the perfect option.
