Jay_Stealth Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 The other day i was browsing the properties of the user accounts on my pc and came to find an account that i didn't set up, ASP.NET Machine Account. I'm presuming this is an automatic account created by a hotfix or the .NET framework as i don't really check user accounts too often.
vcant Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 yes, this is account created by .NET Framework, i think you should leave it as is....
Jay_Stealth Posted July 1, 2003 Author Posted July 1, 2003 thing is why should it need to create a new user account, and for it to be passworded. I've tried to log in a couple of time using different relevant passwords like my main admin password but no success
Unwonted Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 It's harmless. I have deleted it in the past out of paranoia, but I just leave it now (probably out of paranoia as well ) Truthfully, the account is some kind of dummy authentication for Microsoft's ASP.NET Connection Model, although I'm too lazy to research what it is for.
spyvsspy Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 hey,you can delete the account, its useless and have no effect after removal.cheers
