cyberpyr8
By default drives are assigned the driveletter$ share. In your case D$. You could get to them by typing \\computername\d$. You have to have admin rights on that remote computer to do that. There really isn't any other way to get to remote drives through the network without sharing it somehow. The other way to see it would be remote desktop or VNC.
MichaelMagdy
@'cyberpyr8' thanks for your posthave to have admin rights on that remote computer to do that. Gouki
About the VNC type applications, it pretty easy to understand.Using VNC, you need to install a 'Server' and a Client. The 'server' gets installed on the machines you wish to remotly administer, and the Cliente is what you use to gain access to it. This allows you to configure a machine like you where seating right on fron of it.There are different 'flavours' of VNC. I dont fully know all of them but someone here in the Board can give you better details of each one.I'll give you 3 'types' of VNC:RealVNCTightVNCUltraVNCHope this helps you. Take care. jaclaz
Yes, you need to have Administrator privileges. You can directly type the address of the network drive in the explorer address bar, something like:\\10.2.7.2\d$\\OtherPC\d$ or you can use an utility such as this one (FREEWARE):http://www.softperfect.com/http://www.softperfect.com/products/networkscanner/jaclaz

jaclaz
i did it all in administratorWell, no, from your screenshot you are doing it as ERINI\Guest.You must be Administrator (i.e. have Administrator privileges) on TARGET machine as well.If the Administrator account (i.e. the one with Administrator privileges) has NOT the same Password/Login on BOTH machines, you need to give Password/Login of the TARGET PC, otherwise you will have access denied.jaclaz

jaclaz
From the posted images it seems to me that:1) you are logged in your local PC as Mariam...2) you try to connect to remote PC3) the Remote PC has NOT a user called Mariam..., so it DEFAULTS to GuestI may be wrong, but as said:1) the "Mariam..." account on LOCAL PC must have Administrator Rights (after you have succeeded you can try with a non-admin user)2) an account "Mariam..." MUST exist on REMOTE PC3) the "Mariam..." account on REMOTE PC must have Administrator RightsYou should check that on the REMOTE PC, if you login locally with the "Mariam..." account you have READ/WRITE permissions for that drive.Read these articles:http://www.quepublishing.com/articles/arti...sp?p=30421&rl=1http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechn...ilesharing.mspxjaclaz

jaclaz
how can i do it?I would suggest WALKING to the remote computer, log in as Administrator (or as a user with Administartive rights), create an account as "Mariam...", give to it Administrator rights, reboot computer, test if the user "Mariam..." can locally access the drive then WALK BACK to your machine and try again the connection. Once you have done this succesfully, you can try limiting the rights of the "Mariam..." user on both machines until you have left just enough needed rights.jaclaz

jaclaz
I am lost at this point....Let see if I understand what you should have:a.) A computer that I call "local", whose name is "XXXXXX" with IP address 10.2.7.xa.1) A user account with Administrator rights in this "local" computer ("XXXXXX") called Marian whose login is "Marian" and whose password is "Yourpass"b.) A computer that I call "remote", whose name is "ERINI" with IP address 10.2.7.2b.1) A user account with Administrator rights in this "remote" computer ("ERINI") called Marian whose login is "Marian" and whose password is "Yourpass"If you don't have the above situation, please post the corresponding information.jaclaz
