.cmd files for this purpose are extremely inefficient. I was just wondering if there was some advantage to running it with a cmd file as opposed to many of the other options out there.

Do you care to elaborate on the inefficiency of cmd files?

You're affirming a claim, not backing it up, and then requesting your opposition to affirm and provide evidence for their side. Dunno if this is supposed to be a debate ... your tone just made it seem like that.

Anyway, I use a cmd file because I consolidate all of my scripts. I suppose I could run an exe of some sort from the cmd, but cmds seem to work. And I haven't noticed any ineffiencies with 'em.

id have to agree with dooby, cmd's seem to work fine and i have no ideal why they could be a draw back ,, they are easy to configure and set up with simple batch scripting ,,

Swimming_Bird could you pls enlighten us this, id like to know your thoughts and reasons,, im not in this to debate just further my learnings, so i welcome all thoughts and beliefs

btw: soon probably in the next release the cmd will become obsolete due to the integration of ktools , i believe with in the exe file it self it will call out and run all the programs that the cmd does at the moment.

but in a way i could see your thoughts about having the autorun.inf call out to a exe when all exe's are basically standalones, instead of useing a cmd,, which actually is a dependent
