It means your Windows is not set to 32-bit color depth. Go to Display in Control Panel and go to the Settings tab. It should read some number other than 32-bit color. XPize needs to be 32-bit color in order to install.

thats all well and good but how do i fix it?

I shouldn't fix that, because everything will look terrible.

All (or many) icons have transparent (alpha) backgrounds.

And this will not display well (or unsupported) with 24-bit colors. :(

Set your color depth to 32-bit: Go to Display in Control Panel, or right-click the dsktop and choose Properties, and go to the Settings tab. It should read some number other than 32-bit color.
