Okay, here's another newbie asking for references....

I'm looking for someone to host a page for me. I want to use my own domain (not something.them.com), I have no clue what I'm doing (I'll probably just use FrontPage and upload it), and I'm worried more about quality and reliability than price. Mostly it's going to be a family page, pictures of the kids, etc....

Thanks for any tips and advice!

Or I have a mate who for £20 will set you up a domain and give you webspace

why don't you post the URL to the webhosting site you keep referring to. :)

He hasn't finished the site yet, he is setting up domains for people using word of mouth atm.

When his site is done I will post it :)

well people want to see a company setup first. I wouldn't go advertising until then. But that is just my view.

I think what ZsasZ is saying is that he wants someone to host his site, as a subdomain...For example, zsasz.astromike.com is what I think he means... :)

That's correct. I'm looking for a top-level domain (I think...)

What I want is www.me.com, not www.fillintheblank.me.com.

I don't know squat about web design, but I think I can fumble through FrontPage....

I don't plan on hosting files, or FTP, or anything bandwidth consuming like that... mainly static pitcures and text, a guestbook if I'm feeling ambitious.

Thanks again for all the advice. emaxhost looks like a good service (assuming I know what I'm looking for :) )

then the 3.95 a month packahe would be good, or if you like we could work out a deal for a pay full year amount that would be cheaper. Let me know through e-mail or PM.

I agree. A simple 10-20 page site with light content fits this package. Later, if you decide to grow, simply upgrade the package.
