nmX.Memnoch Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 You definitely can't go wrong with an Asus board.
teqguy Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 It strictly depends on what your intentions are for this system.Provided you're not using it for anything intensive(rendering, video editing, gaming, etc), the Intel board will more than suffice and anything else will be a waste of money. As far as the heatsink is concerned, I believe you'd do better with either Swiftech or Scythe's Ninja. Thermaltake hasn't really produced a decent product since... well... ever.
ripken204 Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 get your parts from newegg:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131539http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811119068http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835106069and i would get another heatsinki have the ninja and its very goodhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835185122these are good ones toohttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835106061http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835118223

Thermaltake hasn't really produced a decent product since... well... ever. You obviously haven't read what he posted. He doesn't want an Intel motherboard. And throwing a dual core processor on an Intel motherboard is in itself a waste. Intel boards, as stable as they are, are not performance motherboards. Also, the thermaltake heatsink he picked is a fine heatsink.@phillyman2004: You made some great choices, I'd go for it. Just make sure you check to be sure that the heatsink clears the capacitors on the motherboard.
