Super-Magician Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) I checked both and didn't find anything.I just realized though that it could have been my attempt to install the Beta 2 Preview of IE (which didn't work).-- Super-Magician Edited February 2, 2006 by Super-Magician
tommyp Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Note in between: don't include KB890046 for now, or edit TXTSETUP.SIF prior to burning the CD:Search for "w03a2409.dll" and remove "ECHO " from the beginning of that line. Then make your CD.All taken care of with latest release (Feb 2).
Tomcat76 Posted February 2, 2006 Author Posted February 2, 2006 Thanks. I've updated the 2K3 hotfix page.
the_guy Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Tomcat,I know this topic is 2003, but on your XP SP1a updates, you have 833989. The correct KB for SP1a and 2003 retail is 833987. You can find the links in MS04-028.the_guy
Tomcat76 Posted February 2, 2006 Author Posted February 2, 2006 Both KB833987 and 833989 are present in my list for WinXP SP1.IE6.0sp1-KB833989-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB833987-x86-ENU.EXE
the_guy Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 833989 is NOT for XP and 2003. They use 833987 instead of 833989.the_guy
Tomcat76 Posted February 2, 2006 Author Posted February 2, 2006 You're right. The existence of the other IE6.0SP1/OE6.0SP1 updates for XPSP1 probably got me confused. Update removed.Thanks.Back to 2K3...Is "2K3 Gold" supposed to be supported? I just tested it and I'm having an issue with "w03a2409.dll". TXTSETUP.SIF and DOSNET.INF refer to that file but it doesn't exist in the I386 folder which makes Windows setup complain. 2K3 SP1 slips fine (w03a2409.dll is present) so the latest edit to HFSLIP is OK.That file is part of WindowsServer2003-KB890046-x86-enu.exe which is intended for both 2K3 Gold and 2K3 SP1.
the_guy Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 If 2003 gold is supported, then the file it should copy in that case is ws03res.dll instead of w03a2409.dllthe_guy
tommyp Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Regarding the missing file with 2003, it appears that if you aren't working with a sp1 source, you'll get the error. I found the prob with hfslip with the way it processes a non-sp1 2003 source. I'll forward the updated HFSLIP to FDV for hosting. TC to the rescue. Thanks!
Tomcat76 Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 I found the prob with hfslip with the way it processes a non-sp1 2003 source.I noticed a few other problems too but I'll check again with the new release first.
Tomcat76 Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 (edited) <TommyP only>W2K3 Gold...The following updates don't integrate or register properly:WindowsServer2003-KB905915-x86-ENU.exeWindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exeThere are a few other issues reported by HFNETCHK but I think they are related to my forgetting to include Windows Script 5.6.A DX9 script section for 2K3 Gold is coming up...</TommyP only> Edited February 3, 2006 by Tomcat76
