Recommended Posts

yes that is....for ex. look here on this DDR ram specs..

http://www.mushkin.com/cgi-bin/Mushkin.sto...uct/View/990992

You will see it runs at 400MHz Bus freq which is also know as DDR 3200.

The best way to end this long thread is to post exzact motherboard your getting and then I could tell you which ram to get.

If your getting this motherboard: MSI K7N2G

any of this DDR RAM will work:

Take your pick in speed order, pc 2100(266mhz),pc 2700(333mhz),pc 3200(400mhz).Get at least 256mb of any of these types mentioned.Remember that you can upgrade later but you can't mix any of these.

my mobo prob gonna be MSI K7N2G in motherboard.com they say Ram

RAM Type: DDR SDRAM

Maximum Supported RAM: 3 GB

i know im suppose to get DDR SDRAM but what about the pcxxx and other numbers?

if you can afford it get pc 3200(400mhz)

Corsair is at the moment the best on the market but also a little pricey. I would suggest mushkin to be your second choice if you have to save a little money.....

Corsair: 256: Cheapest from Pricewatch.com 512 : Cheapest from Pricewatch

Mushkin: 256: Meduim Performance 512: Meduim Performance

of course if you want higher performance, like the best available there different cas settings that your motherboard will take, but again the best thing for you to do is to set a price you want to spend on RAM and then go for there. I paid a little over $210 for my stick from corsair. Of course that is the fastest out there.
