Using a HOSTS file

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is there a way I can be informed of what sites are blocked by the utilization of a HOSTS file?

Best regards.

Your hosts file should not be blocking any sites, unless, if someone or a virus changed the settings.

open in notepad

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc (XP)

C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc (2k)

Unless someone changed it, you should only have your localhost there.

However, you can add/remove anything you want/need.

Like the previous posters said, go to that path and use notepad to edit it.
