December 11, 200520 yr Hello?I'm using XP with SP2.Lately, I've been noticing my display turningrather slightly abnormal into greenish yellow tint. Both my monitor and graphics card are relativelynew, about more or less 1 year old.My memories are relatively new as well.I'd like to know how I can troubleshoot this misbehavior. The tint doesn't last that long, just about few momentsand that's it. However, this happens every now and thenrather irregularly.Thanks.Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on.--Zxian Edited December 12, 200520 yr by Zxian
December 11, 200520 yr I would suggest trying a new monitor if you have one available.. if the problem continues then it would rule that out, and point more towards your video card or video card drivers.also, are you playing games or what are you doing while this happenes? if its just during games, it could be your video card overheating which a simple cleanup of accumulated dust could fix.
December 12, 200520 yr I have seen this behavior when the monitor cable is slightly loose (on either end). This is kind of basic, but definately worth trying first.
December 18, 200520 yr Author Hi,Thanks you all.Usually, when the issue becomes so irritating,I usually reboot the system and this takes careof the situation the most of the time. However, I'll take some of your comments inconsideration in future.
December 18, 200520 yr Does it happen when you've gone away from the computer, turning off the monitor. Then come back few hours later and turn it on to find it discoloured? It usually happens to me, and it's because I don't wake it up by moving mouse or pressing some key before I turn on the monitor. Turn it off and turn it back on usually does it, but now i've learn to move my mouse before I turn it back on lol.
