Hi. I have a friend who lives in Brazil and he is coming to Toronto on X-Mas day. His father will likely buy him a new laptop. He prefers gaming. he likes to play RTS games like AOE3. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew of any laptops with 512MB of video memory? Any released yet? 256MB even?

I believe Falcon Northwest, Sager, and Alienware will start using the new GeForce 7800Go video chipset in their laptops soon, and it should have at least 256MB. The only laptop video chipset that has 256MB of video memory is Nvidia's GeForce 6800Go. I believe only Falcon Northwest and Alienware puts those in their laptops.

Don't buy PCs from alienware.

I ordered mine, got many delays, and when it arrived, the system doesn't even boot up.

Just no nothing on the screen.

I talked to the tech. support guy but with my configuration, it uses SATA HDDs but he didn't even know that SATA HDD does not use jumper settings.

Anyway, if you can wait for a long time, talk with the peoplez at Alienware for a long time on the phone(meaning a very long time) and you have a good experience on how to make and diagnose computers, and also if you want to challenge if you can fix this scrap metal with numerous amount of free time, please feel free to order it from Alienware.

You know, they are just Pro's at wasting your valuable time.
