Nerwin Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Hey guys what's the best motherboard that has socket 775 that supports intel p 4 3.2Ghz W/HT and is under $100.If you need more specs, just let me know.
rjz Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 http://www.newegg.comThis place has a lot. Just look under the processors and click your catagory. Some start around 50. I would post the direct link but it's very ling.
Nerwin Posted November 23, 2005 Author Posted November 23, 2005 (edited) What about this motherboard:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...&Tab=1&NoMapp=0 Edited November 23, 2005 by computerMan
big poppa pump Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Firstly, Tigerdirect sucks! ECS sucks even more.
Nerwin Posted November 23, 2005 Author Posted November 23, 2005 well can you tell me whats a good motherboard that has about the same specs that are on the ECS motherboard.this what i'm going to get For my computer:Motherboard: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...&Tab=2&NoMapp=0 (unless i can find something better but the same price and it has to be mATX motherboard.)HDD: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...&sku=THD-1600BBCable: (IDE) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...96&sku=T13-4007CPU Fan: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...9&sku=C283-1038Cd Burner/DVD Burner: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...5&sku=S167-4206
glent Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 You may want to reconsider the HD...IMO 2mb cache is very low by todays standard. 8MB should be a minimum
Nerwin Posted November 23, 2005 Author Posted November 23, 2005 thats true, would that HDD be good if i get it in 8MB cache
daz98 Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 yep the 8 mb is much better but even then depending on what you want ur computer for you could get a 16mb cache and about 400gb
Nerwin Posted November 23, 2005 Author Posted November 23, 2005 I could? So is that motherboard good? i know it's not the best but it will work.I would get a 400Gb 16mb cache but i'm on a budget man i only can spend around 100 bucks on a hard drive
dies900 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 hi i have a problem too i just bought a new pc when i got it i changed graphic card and added ram now i ind out that my graphic card doesnt match with motherboard agp slot my comps specs are:p4 3.0 ghz socket 478asrock p4v88+1024 mb of ram (4x256 mb)radeon 9600 pro80 GB of hard driveand my question is what kind of motherboard should i buy that would fit with my graphic card?
LiquidSage Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 probably just a stiff slot since the board is new. Unless there are actual items blocking your card or it's a 9600 PCI board your card should fit. Jusr push harder.
dies900 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 ups my mistake :$ I´m sorryi ment that my agp slot is only 1.5 vbut 9600 pro needs for 8x speed 0.8 vi now can only set speed to 4x:(can i do something or i should buy a new motherboardi had in mind asus p4p800 E-deluxe is this board good?
rikgale Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 It's a great board IMHO. I've got one. Very reliable, sofar and I've had it a year
ssmokee Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 i now can only set speed to 4x:(If you go and spend $100 on a new motherboard for no other reason than to enable AGP 8x, you are going to be very dissapointed. On my 9600xt enabling AGP 8x increases my FPS by less than 1 (CS Source @1024x768). I just leave it at 4x for sake of stability.
LiquidSage Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 If you want quality + features and are willing to spend as much as the P4P800 line, take a look att the ABIT IS-7 line. I have the IS-7e, 2.4ghz P4c, Radeon 9550 256mb, 4x512 Ram (All banks are using dual channel) and 6 HDs. A wonderful relief from a crappy ECS board. So far no lockups (except when stressing it for my OC roof). Run very fast and easy to OC in BIOS and in windows. It would be a tough choice between a P4P800 and a IS-7 if you are not partial to either ABIT or ASUS.
