yep the 8 mb is much better but even then depending on what you want ur computer for you could get a 16mb cache and about 400gb

I could? So is that motherboard good? i know it's not the best but it will work.

I would get a 400Gb 16mb cache but i'm on a budget man i only can spend around 100 bucks on a hard drive

hi i have a problem too i just bought a new pc

when i got it i changed graphic card and added ram now i ind out that my graphic card doesnt match with motherboard agp slot my comps specs are:

p4 3.0 ghz socket 478

asrock p4v88+

1024 mb of ram (4x256 mb)

radeon 9600 pro

80 GB of hard drive

and my question is what kind of motherboard should i buy that would fit with my graphic card?

Posted

probably just a stiff slot since the board is new. Unless there are actual items blocking your card or it's a 9600 PCI board your card should fit. Jusr push harder.

ups my mistake :$ I´m sorry

i ment that my agp slot is only 1.5 v

but 9600 pro needs for 8x speed 0.8 v

i now can only set speed to 4x:(

can i do something or i should buy a new motherboard

i had in mind asus p4p800 E-deluxe :)

is this board good?

If you go and spend $100 on a new motherboard for no other reason than to enable AGP 8x, you are going to be very dissapointed. On my 9600xt enabling AGP 8x increases my FPS by less than 1 (CS Source @1024x768). I just leave it at 4x for sake of stability.

If you want quality + features and are willing to spend as much as the P4P800 line, take a look att the ABIT IS-7 line.

I have the IS-7e, 2.4ghz P4c, Radeon 9550 256mb, 4x512 Ram (All banks are using dual channel) and 6 HDs. A wonderful relief from a crappy ECS board. So far no lockups (except when stressing it for my OC roof). Run very fast and easy to OC in BIOS and in windows.

It would be a tough choice between a P4P800 and a IS-7 if you are not partial to either ABIT or ASUS.
