PS: i installed the windows 4-5 hours ago.

This is probably a spyware, dont follow these instructions, try to disconnect from the internet and then run adaware and install antivirus/firewall before going back online.

You should be OK. Go to this site for a guide on how to disable windows messanger service which is most likely behind these popups. Link: http://www.itc.virginia.edu/desktop/docs/messagepopup/ .

Just make sure that you have installed all of the latest windows updates (SP2 should have out a stop to this). Makesure your antivirus and antispyware is up to date and working properly.

thanks for the info both :thumbup but theres still the windows massenger icon in the notification area.

i uninstalled the messenger with the add/remove program but it's still there. it's annoying to me :realmad:

no he means the windows messenger service.

try going to run and typing "services.msc" and then find "messenger" right click it and disable it.

then it will stop :)

yes... assuming running windows xp... disable it in control panel/admin tools/services choose disable messenger...also dont forget to stop the service :hello:
