Webcam drivers option

Featured Replies

Hi there folks ...

I've recently bought a Logitech Quickcam Messenger.

The camera works fine but the installation package which is for the cam is huge and installs a billion unneeded things - among others a program to capture still images with - and even more annoying - creates folders in "\my documents" - and in "\My Computer" - Blast! - that really p****s me off!

Anybody knows of a way to either -

* install ONLY drivers

or

* install other compatible sw w/o the bloat and sh*t

- Thank you ... ;)

If you only did a tad bit of searching, you'd see the perfect post only a few threads down in this same subforum...

Ahh yeah - thanks Jeremy - me wasn't thinking clear - done that already just wanted to know how you guys come past this kind of problem. It'll do fine I guess - duh! :rolleyes:

With the logitech webcam messenger driver, I did the standard routine.

Take the file, name driver.exe to driver.rar

open the file with winrar

Extract driver.

DELETE THE DRIVER.EXE AND THE REST OF THE JUNK FROM MY PC :D

This is a common way of opening alot of install files for applications and executible drivers.
