Frysdisken Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Muse 5.1 DVD driver, theres an software coming with this installation, you got any ideas how to remove that so when I install I only get the driver and not the extra package?
Jeremy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Sure, just go to My Computer > hardware > Device Manager > right click on the Device Driver, properties, Driver Details. View the list of files that make up the driver, search them and copy each file to a folder and zip it. Now you have a backup of the driver. Uninstall the software then simply direct Windows hardware wizard to the folder containing the unzipped files. Or use a program called Double Driver.
suryad Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Exactly. Everytime I download and install drivers it is just with the .inf files. I hate the stupid Installshield stuff for drivers.

suryad Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 But if its the .inf file that installs the software?I dont understand??

Jeremy Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 You want the driver and not the software. I told you exactly how to do it. What else do you want?
Frysdisken Posted November 12, 2005 Author Posted November 12, 2005 To understand me, what youve told me is to copy those files that its using, in driver details, well doing that also gets the software with it, because when I gotta install it the files search for that one aswell and install it, cmixer.exe
Jeremy Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Remove all that jibberish above. Now, you find your drivers+software package online, download it. Extract it, find the folder in the package containing the drivers, compress that and put it somewhere and delete the rest. I understand what you mean, you want only the DLLs/SYS files. Download the program Double Driver. It will recognise all your drivers. Backup the ones you desire with it.
Frysdisken Posted November 13, 2005 Author Posted November 13, 2005 (edited) Ah, finally understood how you meant, thanks for the help, well someone can delete this thread now! : ) Edited November 13, 2005 by Frysdisken
