jcarle Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Back Orifice 2000 will do everything and anything you need remotely.
ringfinger Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Isn't BO2k considered a trojan by AV software? I know it used to be when I was playing with it.
ringfinger Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 True, I guess if the 'target' comp doesn't have AV up and running and updated it won't matter.
Zxian Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Yes jcarle... people use AV programs... but only to protect ourselves when visiting certain websites...
ripken204 Posted October 12, 2005 Author Posted October 12, 2005 ive got nod32 setup for her thx zxian, ill try that out
Zxian Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 You can also set up NOD32 to be silent. Just set all the configs to first clean, then delete the infected files, set the update on its own, and then you'll have no need for the GUI. That's how I run my computer and NOD32 still catches crap that I get through my e-mail. As long as the kernel is running (nod32krn.exe) you're protected. That way your sis won't have access to the settings so that she can't unprotect herself.
Zxian Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 I'm not just talking about the silent mode... there is no GUI when you configure it the way I've got it. If you look at my screenshots, I don't have the NOD32 icon in my systray.
ripken204 Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 how do u do that? i hate having icons in my taskbar, all i have is trillian and nod32 and i want to get rid of nod32
Zxian Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Follow the instructions here for the maximum security settings. Then, simply disable the GUI from startup and you're set! You can disable it from msconfig or Startup Control Panel. As long as the kernel is running, NOD32 will update and protect you from viruses. You won't get any notification windows however, but I trust that it's doing its job and I don't really want to be bothered with a window saying that it's deleted a virus.
ripken204 Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 sweet, thx for the tip on the gui. i already had the automatic/silent stuff set
suryad Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 So let us know why she shuts her comp screen down dude once your spying mission works out on your sis haha.
