May I ask why you are increasing the size of the DMA buffer? Are you hoping to gain overall I/O performance increases?

Yes, you know why i want to change that? well it's because that the DMA suppost to be highter then 16 on the size.

I have reservations about using this tweak because I have not yet read a satisfactory explanation on the benefits of increasing this. DMA as I learned from my architecture class is a hack...an x86 legacy...for device drivers. No other hardware architecture uses this. Hnece my doubts.
