May I ask why you are increasing the size of the DMA buffer? Are you hoping to gain overall I/O performance increases?

Yes, you know why i want to change that? well it's because that the DMA suppost to be highter then 16 on the size.

some1 sent me a pm that they gave me the tweak for this so here is the tweak:

SYSTEM.INI file:

[386enh]
DMABufferSize=64

you can change the valu 64 to what ever size is your DMA Buffer size.

Notepad will do. Just open system.ini and look under 386enh.

so what do you think a higher number than 64 will do?

what would 64 stand for?

I have reservations about using this tweak because I have not yet read a satisfactory explanation on the benefits of increasing this. DMA as I learned from my architecture class is a hack...an x86 legacy...for device drivers. No other hardware architecture uses this. Hnece my doubts.
