Is there anyway I can get a program that turns a thumbdrive into a password? Basically I want to use it as a key sortof, like the computer doesnt boot into windows, or doesnt logon to windows or some way that basically completely disables the computer without having a particular thumbdrive inserted. Any help is apreciated.

I think older versions of Windows would actually run the autorun programs on those at the logon screen (rofl), so you could put a program on it that automatically enters the password, and make the password some huge string of gibberish. Otherwise I think you'd need a custom bootloader or at least a program that 'locks' Windows until the key is inserted.

There is such a thing that you'd put between the IDE cable of the main hard drive and the drive itself... The only way to access the hard drive would be to insert the "key" into the USB port...

Thanks gamehead, now any idea what the prog and device are called, what they cost, or where to get it?

One of the programs you may use to enable an usb key as access key for your computer is on this site and you don't need any other devce to make it work.

C'Lock is garbage. It's installer tells you how to defeat it. Simply get into the bios and change the boot devices and boot from cd. And the bios password is so easy to defeat.
