Slow downloading! using IE DM

I'm using DSL with 256 speed, The default speed of downloading is 20-30 kps and I have no problem.

after a while, the download speed gets very slow (4 kps! ) but the surfing speed is good, Using the default download manager of IE, it's so slow, but using any other download manager (I tried flash get and FDM) they are downloading at the default speed (25 kps)

What's wrong with the IE download manager? and how I can fix that?

imo the default IE download has always been hugely dismal. Just use FDM and all will be well.

Yes, I love FDM, but when I tried to download the trial of the new macromedia studio 8, it always save an index.html page not the program, but using IE DM it downloaded correctly.

Hmmm. FDM does that sometimes. For some reason it doesn't find the correct file. Unfortunately, in these case you will have to use the default IE downloading.

Using DSL and downloading 60 MB in 4 hours using IE DM

I downloaded the Flash 8 trials fine, maybe go through your activex manage addon tools to make sure nothing is there that shouldnt be.

Try the Sun downloader http://www.sun.com/download/sdm/download.xml it works great for large file downloads i used it to download Solaris 10 it was about 2gb and it only took 12hours with 256 DSL connection.
