KamiQuazi Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 @rsd4_u:The board is a nice board... I haven't gotten mine but a friend bought one and i got to see it last nite, very nice!@Everyone:Now the problem lies at the line of the RJ-45 ports located on the back IO panel... for some reason(Im not sure if it is a bad board or not) the ports do not work... Windows and see them... but when u try to access a broadband connection it doesn't work... It will send packets but it will not recieve any... any ideas?I have been looking over everything on the mobo and in the clean install of Windows XP Professional... and everything looks good... but im confused at what could have caused this to be a problem with it?
ender341 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Which port doesn't work (or is t both of them)? And does it say anything in the device maneger?
KamiQuazi Posted September 3, 2005 Author Posted September 3, 2005 Both of the RJ-45 ports don't work... The device manager sees them but when i try to connect to a network or a broadband connection, it just doesn't seem to work.. I tried installing and unistailling drivers, reinstalling the OS, searched the BIOS... Everything i could have though of that could be doing this. I'm just confused...
ripken204 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 what drivers? you need the nforce3 system driver for the Realtek ethernet porthttp://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driv...?UID=607&kind=1and i think for the marvel port you need this Ethernet NRM driver version 4.42 (WHQL)but i cant find a good link for it
ender341 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 are there other computers that can connect to the net? and have you tried old drivers?
Thai3g_Eclipse Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Interesting. I had the exact same problem with my Ethernet not working when I had the same board. I gave up on it and bought a D-Link ethernet card from a friend for $5.
KamiQuazi Posted September 4, 2005 Author Posted September 4, 2005 The Tosiba laptop this dude had connected to the net fine... and the other computer that was there also ran fine... Windows XP Professonial and MCE copies... So?... @ Ripken: old drivers for a Nforce3 board might worj with a Nforce 4 board? huh? I'll give it a shot...@Thai3g: That is what me and the friend settled on was to buy another RJ-45 card, if i couldn;t find anything else that work
ripken204 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 oh crap i gave you the neo2, not the neo4http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driv...?UID=637&kind=1get teh nforce4 system drivers, this should make one of them work
KamiQuazi Posted September 4, 2005 Author Posted September 4, 2005 @Ripken:I'll try to reinstall the NForce drivers and I'll reinstall the drivers for the RJ-45s (Marvell) from here:http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driv...?UID=637&kind=1Hope this works!!
