you could go cheaper with an AMD Athlon 64 =) + its better for gaming, unless you want to get the p4, other than that it looks good.

this will actually cost around the high 800's but is very well worth it, if u wanted to you could get the x700 to lower the price but i wouldnt recommend it.

Thing is, the live in Houston, while I live in West Texas. I really wanted a case that comes with a PSU because I'm gonna assemble it at my house, then, next month, I'm going to Houston to visit them for a week... at which time I'll bring the completed computer.

You gotta understand, my mother-in-law hates computers and doesn't want to exceed the $800 limit. He and I agree that if you're gonna build a computer, you need to do it right. So, as always, this comes down to a cost vs. performance issue. However, "marital-bliss" is at stake here also.

So, as any married man knows, keeping the cost <=$800 is necessary for a happy marriage.

Recommend AMD for gaming... but ONLY order from newegg... TigerDirect is VERY, VERY SLOW!!! But listen to Ripken, he just helped me pick parts for my build...

Those look like they should work, but you should double check to see if the mobo supports 90nm process, I know mine had to have the bios flashed by the store i got it from.

One thing i would consider would be getting the OEM CPU, and spend $10-$15 more on a good heatsink/fan (though if staying close to the $800 mark is important, the stock ones aren't as horrible as they used to be)
