oofki Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 It has the limited networking functionality of HOME so I say home.
chilifrei64 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 the MCE Edition I have cannot Join a domain, and does not have Remote Desktop.. essentially... that makes it Home Edition
Zxian Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I thought that MCE was based on Pro minus the domain capabilities, but it still has the others in there (GPO for example).
ripken204 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 i thought it was based off of pro too, cant you also use a pro key on MCE and vise-versa?
chilifrei64 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I think this is gonna be an opinion discussion. I would say we could stick with the fact that it is a hybridWith that being said.. my opinion is If you cant join it to a domain(the main item that seperates home from pro) then it is based off homeWith that being said.. It is a hybrid:D
Guest jcsanford Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 (edited) XP Pro IS the basic OS and MCE and Table PC are ADD-ONs. The main/primary disk is XP pro. (there are two disk with MCE and Tablet PC)If you use a PRO Key, it will NOT ask for Disk 2. If you use a MCE or Tablet PC Key, it WILL ask for the second disk. Edited August 21, 2005 by jcsanford
