does MCE 2005 based off of home or pro

thanks!

It has the limited networking functionality of HOME so I say home.

the MCE Edition I have cannot Join a domain, and does not have Remote Desktop.. essentially... that makes it Home Edition

I thought that MCE was based on Pro minus the domain capabilities, but it still has the others in there (GPO for example).

i thought it was based off of pro too, cant you also use a pro key on MCE and vise-versa?

I think this is gonna be an opinion discussion. I would say we could stick with the fact that it is a hybrid

With that being said.. my opinion is If you cant join it to a domain(the main item that seperates home from pro) then it is based off home

With that being said.. It is a hybrid:D

XP Pro IS the basic OS and MCE and Table PC are ADD-ONs.

The main/primary disk is XP pro. (there are two disk with MCE and Tablet PC)

If you use a PRO Key, it will NOT ask for Disk 2. If you use a MCE or Tablet PC Key, it WILL ask for the second disk.
