El Barto Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 I was wondering...is there a difference in performance when it comes to FAT32 and NTFS?
Snoop Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 NTFS perfromance doesnt start to degrade on large hardrives like FAT32 does i think?
Aaron Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 yep, NTFS performs best on hard disks over 30gbAlso, more info on NTFS can be found at www.ntfs.com
XPerties Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 all the info you need to know...FAT vs NTFS
Devil_666 Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 Basicly NTFS is for NT, 2000 and XP because this is more secure because of the logins and encriptions, and FAT32 and 16, is for Windows 9x and XP
Doggie Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 quite simply, FAT is faster but s**tty encryption and NTFS maybe be slower but high encryption and much more reliable.. as i use NTFS myself
HybridMonolith Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 The (Very Little) speed difference between the 2 is not anything in the way of impact of system performance, NTFS is way more stable and Fragmation is minimal.
