I just wanted to know which AMD Athlon 64(Non FX and Non X2) is the best overclocker. i just want to keep it in mind because i will buy an AMD Athlon 64 system and want to decide which is best. Thanks

most people are having good luck w/ the venice core 3000+/3200+.. most are hitting 2700mhz on air on a good mobo. my san diego 4000+ oc's all right. its super pi 1m stable at just under 2900mhz, but doesnt like 3d apps at that speed.

hows the winchester 3000+? that a good overclocker?

The winchester isnt bad, but venice/sandiego have an improved memory controller and SSE3. Overclocking wise I think the newer venice/sandiego cores are significantly better.

venice 3200 and san diego 3700 have the best price/performance ratio and are excellent overclockers

if you want greatest budget venice 3000+ is best i got it and i say its very nice iv got it at 2.2ghz rock stable 24/7 here

but most people belive that the 3200+ can get higher, i would have to agree with what iv seen them doing

the nice thing about the 3200 is the 10x multi... some people ruinning the 3000 got limited for overall cpu clock because of the lower 9x multi...
