i have a dvd burner and a cd rom drive in my computer

instead can i replace the cd rom drive with a dvd rom drive

will there be a conflict as i already have a dvd burner in my computer

You shouldnt have any problems at all.

A lot of OEM's are doing just that, a burner and a ROM.

I got hat setup too and havent had any probs at all.

The optical drives operate independantly. It is like having two hard drives. Makes no difference.

Hakeem - hate to say this, but ...

Note that there are quite a few DVD-roms out there that just don't cut the ice - I've had issues with both Pioneer, Teac and Toshiba DVD-rom drives and finally settled for a good DVD-burner and a good CD-writer ...

You might want to get a good cd-writer instead to complement you DVD burner - or go buy a second "backup" DVD burner ...

Just so you don't get dissappointed as I did a few times :(
